Boston's First Korean Musical 보스톤 최초 한인 뮤지컬 공연
(보스톤 = 보스톤코리아) 김현천 기자 = 보스톤 지역 한인 역사상 최초로 한인들이 꾸민 뮤지컬 공연이 펼쳐진다.
BOSTON - A musical event organized by Koreans will be held for the first time in the Boston community.
오는 24 일 토요일 보스톤한인교회 ECC 에서 열리는 이 공연은 보스톤 지역 한인 뮤지컬 배우와 음악인으로 구성된 ‘Broadway to Boston Theater Company (B2B, 대표 Heather Lee)’ 의 첫무대로, ‘왕과 나’, ‘웨스트사이드 스토리’, ‘시카고’ 세가지 세트로 진행된다.
The event will be held on Saturday the 24th at the ECC hall of the Boston Korean Church and will consist of Korean musical actors and musicians of the Broadway to Boston Theater Company (B2B representative Heather Lee). They will be performing acts from “King and I,” “West Side Story,” and “Chicago.”
각각의 뮤지컬에서 귀에 익숙한 음악들을 모아 소개하는 이번 공연에는 정종은, 차형진, 이안 드프라이스트(Ian DePreist), 히더 리(Heather Lee) 가 배우로 출연하며, 버클리 출신들(Berkeley Alumni)로 구성된 밴드가 연주를 맡는다(연출 히더 리, 음악감독 로빈 조).
Jongeun Jeong, Hyung-jin Cha, Ian DePreist, and Heather Lee will be performing, and a Berkeley School of Music alumni band will be accompanying the music (direction by Heather Lee, Musical direction by Robin Cho). They will perform a wide range of popular musical numbers.
이번 뮤지컬 공연으로 지역 한인들을 찾아온 B2B 는 지역사회봉사의 뜻을 가진 젊은 음악인들로 구성된 재능기부 음악단체이다.
B2B, the group in charge of organizing this event, is a talent donating music group that consists of young musicians who are gathered in unison to serve the local community by sharing their musical talents.
보스톤 지역 음악인들에게 지역사회를 위한 음악을 연주할 수 있는 기회와 더불어 열린 음악을 통해 지역사회 주민들에게 폭넓은 문화생활을 제공한다는 취지를 가진 B2B 의 이번공연은 보스톤한인교회 국내선교팀이 주최하는 “Oasis Café Music Night” 시리즈의 일환으로 입장료는 무료(Suggested Donation $10)이다.
B2B’s performance event is a part of “Oasis Café Music Night” hosted by the Boston Korean Church local missionary team and admission is free with a suggested donation of $10. This event will serve as a purpose for allowing local Boston musicians to perform in their community and for locals to come out and experience a wider cultural experience.
공연은 보스톤한인교회와 합동으로 올려지며 한미문화재단과 보스톤한인교회가 공동으로 후원한다.
The performance will be co-performed by the Boston Korean Church and B2B, and the Korean American Cultural Foundation and Boston Korean Church will cohost this event.
